When we were contacted by a previous client’s father building a $6M+ custom home in Governors Club in Brentwood Tennessee, he requested a complete smart home automation system that was easy to use. We proposed URC Total Control with Amazon Alexa Voice Assistants.

Thanks to Total Control and Amazon Alexa, we were confident the system would be user-friendly, and controlling the electronics throughout the house by voice would definitely impress friends and neighbors. TVs, music, entertainment systems, lighting, climate, security, and more. Simply tell your home what to do with spoken commands.
CONTROL HOME ENTERTAINMENT DEVICES WITH YOUR VOICE
EIGHTTEEN - THAT'S RIGHT "18" - TVS THROUGHOUT THE HOME.

With 18 TVs in the home, there are electronics you can talk to in every room. Surprisingly, you rarely, if ever, have to pick up a remote. When you do, the system is still just as easy to use. Simply press a button that says “Watch TV”, “Watch A Movie” or “Listen to Music”. Simple!

With (18) video displays there is no lack of spots to get your screen time... The master bath has a 32” smart tv to watch the news while getting ready for work or catch up on the latest episode of your favorite show while relaxing in the bath. TVs not pictured here include over the fireplace in the master suite, the office, a downstairs bar, a gym, and 4 upstairs bedrooms...

We designed & installed a state-of-the-art 4K 7.2.2 home theater system with 4-row seating, and a 13-zone, 52-speaker whole home audio system. Security, cameras, video doorbells, lighting, and climate control are also integrated into the system

The entertainment possibilities in this home are almost endless. Tell Alexa to “tune the theater room to ESPN” for the big game, everything comes on and ESPN is on the 160” screen automatically. Listen to music by the pool on 11 speakers and 2 subwoofers by just talking.

Alexa controls the lights and climate control for all areas of the home. Five thermostats and a Lutron RA2 lighting system make it all possible.

Total Control and Alexa give us the ability to create simple voice commands to control just any electronics in your home. Hot or cold? Say “Alexa, set the master bedroom to 73.” Hear a bump in the night? Say “ Alexa show me the driveway” or “Turn on the floodlights!”
​
Six cameras around the home, including three video doorbells, the homeowner can view and monitor the home from TVs, Echo Devices, or via their mobile device from anywhere in the world. The cameras integrate directly into the home security system so they can manage all of their security in a single app.

The backbone of the entire system is an enterprise-grade network by Luxul.
140 lines of data cable pre-wired in the home allow us to hardwire most of the components to keep the Wifi network stable and reliable.
Six Wifi access points throughout the home and outside give us strong reliable coverage over the whole property!
Ten Amazon Echo devices including (2) Shows, (3) Spots, and (5) Dots give us voice control in almost every room.

The whole house audio system is out of this world! With 13 zones and 52 speakers, the homeowner can listen to up to 13 different audio sources from over 500 steaming services all at once in different areas of the home or group all of the areas together as one to have the same music source playing all over the house.
Each area can have the volume set independently and all of this can be controlled by voice or on a single app on a mobile device.
Even though the system is large and versatile with this many options, it’s still extremely simple to use.

The homeowners are blown away by how few electronics they actually see around the home considering the amount of function and devices they have. We designed the system not only to function well but also to be aesthetically pleasing. We did this by hiding two equipment racks inside low-voltage closets upstairs and on the lower floor.
Time Well Invested!
Rome wasn’t built in a day and this system wasn’t either. Design and planning sessions started with the homeowner and builder in late 2017, the home was pre-wired during construction, after framing in late 2018 and the final installation was completed in August 2019. The two years of work and planning paid off well! Everything turned out exactly as planned and works flawlessly!
